Project-based coding for students (ages 9-16)

Your child chooses what they want to build, then we bring it to life and publish it online. 1-to-1 in Hong Kong, online or in-person.

Building something real, from the very first session

Every project starts with an idea your child cares about. From there, we design, build, and publish something that actually works online.

Built around your child's interests

Not a fixed syllabus. A real project your child cares about.

We start with a quick brainstorm to find what your child is into, then we build around that. The outcome is something real and online. A website or simple app your child can show and keep improving.

Creative

Your child chooses the direction. The project stays personal.

Practical

Build, test, publish. Less theory, more doing.

Problem solving

Troubleshooting is a coding skill and a life skill.

Future-ready skills

AI is already changing how people work and build. These sessions teach your child how to think, build, and troubleshoot. Those are core skills for a future that will look very different.

For older students, we can also cover basic concepts around modern digital systems (including AI and digital value), in a practical and age-appropriate way. No hype. Just understanding.

Optional: short intro video

30-60 seconds. Explain the interest-led approach and what gets published.

Video placeholder

Add /public/lessons/intro.mp4 and replace this block with a <video> tag.

Equipment

A laptop is strongly recommended. It helps your child practice and build independently.

Preferred

Your child has their own laptop. This is ideal so they can practice between sessions and keep their setup ready for the future.

If not

For in-person sessions, we can do paired programming on my laptop. It still works, but progress is faster with their own device.

Pricing

Most parents start with a trial. The build package is designed for a full project outcome.

Optional (future): PDF guide

Later, this page can include a short PDF with example projects and a simple outline parents can skim.

FAQ

The questions parents typically ask before booking.

No. Most students start from zero. We build from first principles and keep it practical and paced to your child.

We start with a short brainstorm. Your child tells me what they're interested in, and we pick a project that feels exciting and achievable.

Example: if your child collects Pokémon cards, we might build a collectibles library or a simple store-style site (no payments), depending on age and skill.

Ideally your child has their own laptop so they can practice between sessions and keep their setup ready for the future.

If not, for in-person sessions we can do paired programming on my laptop. It still works, but your child will progress faster with their own device.

Either works. We agree the arrangement in advance based on your preference and your child's needs.

Trial sessions are paid in advance and are non-refundable. The build package is paid upfront and is also non-refundable. If scheduling needs to change, we can reschedule with reasonable notice.

No guarantees are made regarding academic or career outcomes. Progress depends on the student and their effort. What I do guarantee is a structured process and a clear build path toward a published project.
